Skills and Knowledge in Resume Writing

Skills and Knowledge in Resume WritingWhen writing a resume, what is meant by skills? I recently came across an interview question that pointed out the importance of skills in employment. This was on an online job application form, and with all the different things you can find on the internet, I thought I would put together a few points on skills that may be on your mind and give you some ideas for how to begin writing a resume. Some skills could actually be either 'skills'skills and knowledge.' In my experience, skills and knowledge are usually linked. So, in a real world scenario, an applicant with skills may also have knowledge, however, in a hypothetical situation, an applicant with skills may have knowledge, but they may also have no skills. It could be a slightly different situation, where the applicant has both skills and knowledge.Skills tend to be more specific in nature, and more obvious. For example, reading skills are ones such as being able to read the latest fashion mag azines, or being able to go into a store and look at clothes that they have. Clothes and fashion are not the only examples of skills that can be used in a job interview. Math skills, reading skills, typing skills and general English skills are all examples of skills that you should consider. It may be that you are more concerned with something like math skills or reading skills. These skills can help you a great deal when you apply for a job, but they may not seem very important to you, if they are not included in your resume. If this is the case, then you may want to add in something that will make you appear more desirable to employers. One common mistake people make when it comes to skills is that they over-use them. You don't have to use all of your skills, just a few. For example, if you have a good memory, but you are new to writing, you may only use it to explain your experiences as a cook or a chef. You may want to leave out this skill, so that you can better describe your ove rall resume and your achievements.I would say that skills and knowledge are two different things. You should also realize that these two areas are pretty closely related. You do not want to get too far away from being able to use your skills, however, you need to be clear about the fact that you have more than one of those skills.Hopefully these ideas will give you some inspiration when it comes to writing a resume. Although you should probably consider a mix of skills and knowledge, if you can identify that skills and knowledge are closely related, you can usually make a very compelling case for your skills. Perhaps your skills can be made more clear by taking the time to really think about them, and you can also make more of an impression by focusing on what they do.
